A Note About Crossbars
- Crossbar Thickness: Each crossbar must be at least 1" thick.
-
Crossbar Width: Each tent includes a Standard Mounting Kit (2.4"–3.5"). If your bars are outside this range, use:
- Wide Kit — fits crossbars 3.5"–4.6"
- Round/Rectangle Kit — round bars 1"–1.7" or rectangle bars 1"–1.4"
- Crossbar Spacing: The distance between the crossbars must be 30"–60".
- Dynamic Weight Capacity: Roof rack system must have a dynamic load rating of ≥165 lbs (75 kg).
Dynamic load rating applies while driving, static load capacity is usually 5–7× greater. The Galaxy Pro weights :165 lbs. If your rack can hold the tent, it will also hold occupants inside—never travel with people in the tent.

Installation Instructions
- Lift the tent onto your crossbars (you will need a friend or two) with the tent handle facing towards the rear of your vehicle, and the hinges at the front of your vehicle.
- Make sure the tent is positioned approximately where you want it. Typically, if it looks right—it is! For SUVs and hatchbacks, open your trunk and push the tent back until it just misses touching the open trunk. This allows you to be sure the tent won’t interfere with your trunk’s operation.
- Prepare your mounting sets.
- Insert an M8 bolt into a mounting plate (tracks facing up) and then attach a mounting U bracket (concave pointing up). Then attach a hex head bolt a little less than halfway. Repeat three more times.
- Prepare four M8 bolt and plate sets by connecting an M8 bolt to a mounting plate. Repeat three more times.
- With your 4 original mounting sets and U brackets, slide each into the mounting track. Ask a friend to help slightly lift the tent and slide the U brackets onto the inner side of the roof rack. Repeat for each corner of the tent.
- Slide the M8 bolt and plate set into the mounting track, then secure it by inserting the M8 bolt through the U bracket. Repeat for each corner of the tent.
- Finger-tighten a black quick-release nut onto the M8 bolt. Repeat for all four corners. Tighten the nuts evenly and snugly, making sure that before you do a final tightening of the nuts that you have your tent lined up on your vehicle's roof exactly where you want it.
- Fully secure both the black quick-release nuts and the anti-slip nuts (with the blue rubber ring) at the screw ends. If there isn’t enough space for both, the anti-slip nuts must be installed. After tightening all the nuts, if the clearance between the U-bracket and the T-slot is less than 1/5 inch (5 mm), please contact us for assistance. Regularly inspect and re-tighten all nuts before each trip, especially if the tent has been mounted for an extended period.
- Install caps on the ends of the roof rack. These caps not only keep out dust and sand but also help reduce wind noise while driving.
Setup (Opening the Tent)
- Release all latches. The gas struts will assist in lifting the shell.
- Unfold the tent completely. Tuck the bungee cord into the accessory channel.
- Just fully extend the U-bar —press the U-bar bottom bracket into place until it clicks and locks. We’ve also included a wind support rod for those extra windy days. You won’t need it often, but it’s there if you do.
- Extend the ladder to a 60–70° angle. Lock rungs starting from the bottom upward.
- For ventilation, unzip or roll fabric panels, close bug screens as needed.
- Rainfly (full cover): includes two long poles (rear) and two short poles (sides). For the sides, insert pole tips into the stopper holes under the rainfly, then hook into the eyelets on the rainfly. Repeat for the remaining three poles. When not needed, roll it up and secure neatly.
Closing (Stowing the Tent)
- Remove all rainfly poles and stow them.
- Lower the U-bar. Fold the tent carefully.
- Walk around the tent and tuck in fabric evenly.
- Pull down the upper shell, compress fabric inside, and secure latches/straps.
- Remove and secure the ladder separately.
- Confirm all accessories are properly secured before driving.
Safety
- Always follow vehicle and rack manufacturer load ratings.
- Max recommended speed: 75 mph (120 km/h).
- Always lift or move tent with 2+ people.
- Avoid operating tent in strong gusts.
- Recheck hardware after 10–20 miles, then periodically.
- Never drive with the tent open.
- Roof load limit: do not exceed 99 lbs (45 kg) on top of the tent to ensure smooth opening/closing.
Care & Maintenance
- Dry tent completely before storage.
- Brush off dirt and clean with mild soap.
- Lubricate zippers periodically.
- Inspect seals and fabric each season.
- Store tent out of prolonged direct sunlight when not in use.
- When the tent is off the vehicle, store it flat on a level surface or hang it. Do not store upright against a wall.
- In rainy or very humid weather, if the tent is not in use, air it out on a clear day rather than leaving it closed for long periods to prevent condensation buildup.
- Skylight TPU: eco-friendly TPU may show white fogging (hydrolysis) in hot-humid or cold-humid environments. Rated down to -20 °C (-4 °F). Keep ventilated and dry, always wipe after rain before closing.
Troubleshooting
- Shell won’t close: Fabric is caught. Tuck fabric evenly.
- Condensation inside: Ventilate or use an anti-condensation mat.
- Ladder unstable: Adjust to 60–70°, ensure solid ground.
- Excessive wind noise: Check latches/straps.
- Awning/window pole pops out: Ensure proper seating.
Specifications
- Electrical (Anderson interface): provides 1× USB, 1× USB-C, and 1× 12 V output. Power cable not included. SB50 connector recommended; 10–14 AWG wire, 5 A.
- LED light strips: plug into any USB battery pack to turn on, unplug to turn off. Each strip requires its own battery pack (not included). A pocket near the light stores the battery.
- Heater port: passenger-side location, diameter 2 3/4" (≈70 mm). Allows heater or A/C ducting into the tent.
- Accessory channels: three side channels and two top channels, side channel max load 30 kg (66 lbs). Both side and top channels use M8 bolts.
