Winter Insulator

I went Overlanding last fall and absolutely loved the Top Oak Stellar. I loved everything about the RTT, the only drawback was during cold evenings. Well that changed when I received the insulation kit.

Last night I tested the liner during a snowstorm in Michigan with a high of 23F. I added a diesel heater to my setup, and with the liner I had to keep the heater on the lowest setting and I still had to open a zipper to keep the temps in the low 70s. Fifteen hours of run time on the heater and I only used about 10 ounces of fuel.

The liner fits perfectly and is a game changer for winter camping.

The product is well made easy to install and seems like it will help keep in the heat during cold conditions.

We slept in our tent one night without it, the temp got down to 23 degrees F. I wasn't miserable in the tent with it being a hard top but the second night got down to 11F but we had the insulator. Oh my, what a difference! No draft, kept the heat in and we were so comfortable!

I purchased the add on insulation kit with my RTT. It was shipped separately and arrive a month later. But, I didn’t need it right way, and Topoak proactively reached out to explain the issue, offer a discount and reset expectations.
The kit itself was really good quality.
I absolutely recommend Topoak.

This thing is high quality, easy to install, and nearly perfect. What would make it perfect is a few small slits or openings like dashes on the top where the light is so that the light would shine through. Also, if the part where the skylight is could have a zipper to open, and last is if the storage carrier could be moved from behind the winter insulator to in front of it. This could be done by adding some attachment points for that storage carrier on the inside of the winter insulator.

Overall I love it.
