So far loving it. I only have a few thoughts that may or may not improve the awnings. 1: use a rip stop codura for the outside. Easier to maneuver. 2: use some sort of pull loop on the zippers also you could make them a bright color so you can see them better in the dark. 3: make your mounting brackets more universal or two sets. One toward the overlanding community and one towards the every day hi who doesn’t have a “top tier” roof rack. I have to drill into my cross bars on my crestone. Lastly, I would say make more videos in more detail about how to install your items. It is not very clear from what you have.
The install was tuff but I figured it out. It was nice to have the brackets with lots of adjustment. Install turned out great and solid. I am an experienced installer. It may be hard for a less skilled buyer. Thx
I have used this awning at the campground and on the beach several days already. It has exceeded my expectations. It is better than all the expensive models. It's very sturdy. I used it in heavy winds and during heavy rain. Absolutely awesome product. I will be purchasing a few more of these for different setups. Thank you topoak!
This is my second 270 batwing awning I've purchased. I got it to replace the bag awning on my little camper as it provided substantially more cover and has an awning room. I like it more than the 270 awning on my truck from another company. Has a some features my other one doesn't have. Lights built into the arms are a plus vs sold separately. The mounting brackets are 2 pieces and allow you to adjust the height and plenty of hardware for the various mounting options. I actually ordered a second set to replace the ones on the truck and give me a little more head room. The legs deploy easily, and came with replacement parts for the adjustment locks. The heavy duty stakes and guy lines are a plus. All around good value for the awning.
The awning room is a nice addition also, but it's also my only complaint/constructive feedback. The inside panel could use another opening. The inner panel only has 2 zipper doors and could use a 3rd. If this was mounted to an SUV or my Tacoma it would probably adequate to access the back seat doors. However in my use on my camper and probably on a full sized pickup with a longer bed having an additional zipper door on the forward section of the inner panel would be really helpful. I thought there was one there when I added the awning room to my purchase.
better than expected. Thought it to be a small 270 degree but much larger than another brand for less money. One of the rope ratchets broke missing screw and spring. Lights work but it would be nice if you could adjust brightness or change color.
