I feel guilty for not submitting this review sooner. I purchased this awning four months ago and the first day of having it on my rig. I go Off-road and get a little adventurous end up tearing the bag 100% my fault and I was genuinely surprised how well it held up after reaching out to customer support asking if I can purchase a new bag they went above and beyond and offered to send me one for free, which is greatly appreciate. and after four months, I could not be happier with how well everything is holding up. my only complaint was the brackets used, but now that I am here writing this review I see they have updated the bracket design which should alleviate my concerns entirely making this a steal if you’re on the fence for the money and level of quality you can’t go wrong.

also, the bag did an amazing job protecting the awning.

I came across TOPOAK scrolling TikTok, looking at overland setups & YouTube reviews. The reviewers had nothing but great things to say about the product & company.

Let’s start with customer service: I accidentally entered the wrong shipping address and immediately panicked. I reached out via both email and their chat feature, and to my surprise, I received quick replies from both confirming my address had been updated. That alone gave me confidence in the company & why I planned to purchase other items.

I placed my order on 6/20, and it arrived on 6/30 from California to Florida. That is fast shipping! When the box arrived, it was so well-packaged that it took me about 10 minutes to unpack everything. That’s not a complaint; it shows how carefully it was protected during transit.

I have the awning mounted on Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars. I do not have a typical overland rig; I drive a 2021 VW Tiguan. I was worried the awning might look out of place, but it does not. I am happy with how it looks and feels mounted on my car. I have driven about 300 miles so far on the highway at around 70 mph, and it has felt very sturdy and secure. I have it on the passenger side. I do not hear any noise. I do not plan to go off-road. I will use it for tailgates, beach camping, and regular camping at state parks in Florida. This awning should last me a long time.

As a girlie who’s only 4'11", I need a lot of help mounting it onto the car. I was also concerned about opening & closing the unit, but it has been very manageable. I use a small step stool to flip up & down the awning cover. Other than that, I can still open and close the awning on my own without a problem.
The quality of the materials is seriously impressive. The brackets, stitching, lights, and overall build feel solid and well-made. You can immediately tell this is not some flimsy, budget option. Do not let the price scare you into thinking the quality is not there. It absolutely is!

I am waiting for my Galaxy Pro & water tank to arrive to complete my setup. I will be back with another review of those items.

We bought the awning to go with our Galaxy pro and purchased the awning brackets to fully integrate the two. The awning itself self is high quality and more than easy to set up. We set the awning and tent up within about 10 min (maybe less). The lights also a big plus! At night we initially had all 4 lights on but we ended up unplugging 3 since we only needed a dim light and it was perfect!

The one thing is the rain fly on the Galaxy Pro which I’ve emailed them about and it looks like they already have a new bracket so I’m very excited to test this out! The one thing for 4Runner owners, even with the awning installed on the tent the hath doesn’t open all the way, more so if you have a ladder. Regardless, couldn’t be happier with the product, the plethora of tools (including the hammer it comes with), and its ease of use.

I can't believe how well built the topoak 270 degree is. It is sturdy without being too heavy. It was easy to install and easy to deploy. Love the built in light setup. Topoak thought about everything. All the additional accessories was a big plus. Love the hammer/stake puller tool. Bought a separate set of mounting bracket to allow for a lower profile.

My first outing was a success. My only Con: is there should be on each rail a stand up nub to give tarp a raised peak to help shed water, instead of allowing it to pool. The Pro: the initial set-up, deploying it, and the size of it are outstanding. The last thing is the price for what it is and the total cost AWESOME. for someone on a budget, I am more than pleased.
